Jacob Goldenberg | U.S. Marine Corps | Food & Travel Correspondent

Jacob “Jake” Goldenberg is a former United States Marine Corps Infantryman and Security Forces Team member. After 2 years of national asset security detail aboard Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic (SWLANT), Jake found himself at Camp Pendleton, California. In the summer of 2006, he deployed with the illustrious 1st Battalion 5th Marine Regiment where he was part of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (SOC capable). Based out of Okinawa, Battalion Landing Team 1/5 conducted joint task force operations throughout the Pacific theater in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Following his service from 2003-2007, Jake was honorably discharged. He went on to study history at Louisiana State University before shifting gears and trying his hand in the oil & gas industry as a drilling fluids engineer.

Most recently, Jake is an honors student at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York where he is graduating in May with a B.S. in International Trade & Marketing for the Fashion Industries. Jake is also an active member of FIT’s Department of Student Life where he serves as President of the International Trade Students Association.

The child of multinational parents and a dual citizen of the United States and Mexico, Jake has always been an avid appreciator of food and culture, attesting that enculturation has been the greatest education of his life. Originally from New Orleans, he is also a lover of music, sports and fashion. Near or far, simple or extravagant, as Lima Charlie’s food and travel correspondent, Jake looks to take all of you on his journeys one bite at a time.
